Gender specific development waterpolo program; girls and boys train together but play independently
For players born in 2001 - 2003.
Highest level of training. Maximize fitness and game sense as well as swimming and waterpolo skills.
Focus is on perfecting and mastering technical skills and performing all variations of team strategies.
Commitment is an important component of this team. Attending all dryland, water practices, strategy sessions, games, and tournaments is an essential part of developing the team dynamics and tactics.
Program corresponds to the Train to Compete and Train to Perform phases of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model and principles of physical literacy.
Goal is to get players accepted onto the Quebec Waterpolo Team and/or Team Canada. Players will be observed during the season and training will prepare them for the QC and Canada team try-outs in the spring. Lastly, players will have the opportunity to play internationally and apply for university teams and /or scholarships.
